Welcome to Tech New Logica

We brought you GreenSert & RecyClad

The first and the only pocket-size reusable cup!

The idea

The big bad problem

58,000,000,000 paper cups are thrown away (not recycled) every year [1].

20,000,000 trees are cut down and approximately 12,000,000,000 gallons of water are used every year to manufacture single-serve paper cups that end up in the landfill. For example, the volume of Olympic-size swimming pool is 660,000 gallons [2], Georgia Aquarium contains 10,000,000 gallons of marine and salt water [3], and capacity of Bouquet Reservoir is approximately 12,000,000,000 gallons [4]. Thus, the amount of wasted water would be enough to fill Bouquet Reservoir in Southern California!

Recycling of paper cups is still a major challenge because paper is coated with waterproof polymer, such as polyethylene [5].

Moreover, waterproofing with polyethylene possesses potential hazards to our health [6, 7].

On top of that, greenhouse gas emissions generated from energy use per 2,000 paper cups equal 1138 kg [8]. Hence, all not recycled paper cups contribute more than 33,000,000,000 kg of greenhouse emissions each year! The same amount is exhaled [9] yearly by population of Germany [10] or two states of California [11]. A big number to consider in the fight with climate change.

Not just another tumbler...

Our goal is to eliminate nonrecyclable paper cups which contaminate our environment.

GreenSert is based on our patented technology, the first and the only cup that is reusable, compact, nontoxic, easy to clean, and of course, sustainable. The cup consists of a flexible insulating waterproof body made of high quality food grade silicone rubber and comes with an insulating sleeve made from recycled paper, which we call RecyClad.

GreenSert is reusable, super compact, plastic free and nontoxic, 100% recyclable, microwave and dishwasher safe, hygienic and hypoallergenic with no open pores to harbor bacteria, easy to clean, and weighs 18 g only!
RecyClad provides additional thermal insulation and serves as a canvas for custom prints and graphic designs.
Both GreenSert & RecyClad can be used together or separately. You can choose to line most 12 oz cups and mugs with GreenSert, while using RecyClad provides extra thermal insulation to protect your hands.

Not only you can use GreenSert & RecyClad for your daily coffee needs and get discounts in participating stores for bringing a reusable cup [12], but you can also take it outdoor as a lightweight and portable cup for your backpacking, hiking, biking, kayaking, and camping adventures!
After thorough testing and exposure by boiling water and microwaves it turned out that the design is pretty robust, and we believe it is truly the first and the only pocket-size sustainable cup on the market to date!

Grim statistics show that every second more than 380 paper cups are thrown away and not recycled, which means we lose a tree every two seconds. We are pushing our limits to deliver our idea to you as soon as we can, because…Earth day everyday with GreenSert!

Coming soon

  • Increase production volume thus reducing the cost and making the technology available to everyone.
  • Design of reusable holder for GreenSert is on its way.
  • Design handy case for GreenSert and RecyClad.

Meet GreenSert, the first and the only pocket-size reusable cup to date.

GreenSert (green + insert) is a flexible insulating waterproof insert which is made of top quality food grade silicone rubber in USA. Although it has increased the cost of manufacturing, we have deliberately selected USA over China because we carry great responsibility for the product quality and we want to invest in USA economy.

We made GreenSert compatible with most of 12 oz cup holders, such as RecyClad, ceramic mug, tumbler, and ordinary paper cup.

Several selected advantages

  1. Excellent heat resistance, cold flexibility, dielectric properties, and especially good resistance to weather, ozone and UV rays [13, 14, 15].
  2. Good chemical resistance [14, 15].
  3. Does not fade or scratch [16].
  4. Nontoxic [17].
  5. Plastic free. Plastic hazardous effects were demonstrated in [6, 7].
  6. Enhanced insulation keeps the contents at desired temperatures for longer times [15].
  7. Lightweight, compact, and highly portable.
  8. Flexible, durable, and shatter resistant [16].
  9. Hygienic and hypoallergenic with no open pores to harbor bacteria [16].
  10. Dishwasher and microwave safe [16].
  11. Odor and stain resistant [16].
  12. Easy to clean.
  13. Recyclable [18].

RecyClad (recyclable + cladding) is an insulating sleeve made from recycled paper in US. RecyClad provides additional thermal insulation and serves as a canvas for custom prints and graphic designs. The RecyClad design does not require any adhesives to ensure minimum impact on the environment. RecyClad is designed to be used together with GreenSert and with coffee cups as the insulating sleeve.

We strongly encourage you to design and make your own holders for GreenSert and share those with others. You can even use a disposable cup along with the GreenSert, considering you are going to reuse the cup again later, of course

Several selected advantages

  1. Lightweight, compact, and highly portable.
  2. Provides additional thermal insulation [19].
  3. Easily customized.
  4. Adhesive-free design.
  5. Recyclable [20].
  6. Biodegradable/Compostable [21].
